Core Philosophy
Tim's Approach to Pyschology
I believe in a client-centred (or Rogerian) approach to counselling. This approach provides the foundation from which change can take place. It requires that I be genuine, empathetic and non-judgemental to what a client brings to the counselling experience in order to establish an honest and trustworthy client-therapist relationship. I believe that, while some people may require guidance in goal setting, the client's needs will emerge from a positive relationship and as a psychologist, I am committed to establishing this relationship.
